MicroSeal surrounds carpet and upholstery fibers with an invisible barrier that protects against oil and water-based stains. When spills and accidents occur, the customer has more time to remove the spot before it becomes a stain – helping ensure the carpet stays looking newer and fresher longer. Plus, MicroSeal helps release stains more easily during professional cleanings.
When your carpet left the carpet mill it probably had two types of protection applied to it – a soil resistant treatment and an acid dye resistors for stain prevention.
Normal use of your carpet will eventually wear off much of the factory applied protective treatment over a period of 12 to 24 months depending on traffic. Harsh cleaning and spotting agents used by traditional carpet cleaning methods can erode the protective treatment as well.
Scotchgard is environmentally friendly. 3M no longer uses perfluorooctanol chemical (PFOS) compounds in the MicroSeal formula. So not only does your customer get excellent stain protection, you can confidently use a formula that has enhanced environmental, health, and safety benefits that pass regulatory reviews of the EPA and other environmental agencies around the world.
A Cleaner Carpet uses MicroSeal Carpet Protector to prevent spills from bonding to fibers. Scotchgard protects against damaging dry soils as well as both water-based and oil-based spills. This keeps more soil from bonding and damaging fibers, while also making vacuuming and cleaning much easier. The end result is a carpet that can resist stains and dirt and looks great.
